Vogue des Marrons
A « vogue » is the name used in the Francoprovençale area (corresponding in France to most of the Rhône-Alpes region) to designate the annual votive festivals (or patronal festivals) of each common. Generally this consists of a carnival (rides, attractions, bumper cars…).
The « Vogue des Marrons » is a traditional fairground in Lyon and a big event in Croix-Rousse, from October to mid-November. Installed every year on the Croix-Rousse plateau for about a month between October and November. Born more than 150 years ago, it has become a Lyon tradition along the same lines as the food market, traboules or authentic bistros.
